About the Organization:
The Bronx Tourism Council was established in 1991. The Bronx Tourism Council is a subsidiary of the Bronx Economic Development Corporation (BXEDC), creating a cohesive and symbiotic relationship between arts and culture and economic development. The role of the Bronx Tourism Council is to promote the borough’s rich history, its institutions, and cultural diversity on a local, national, and international level. The Bronx Tourism Council is tasked to develop global, national, and local initiatives to increase visitors to the borough. The role demands an integrity-based approach to a positive portrayal of the Bronx. A dedication to uncovering gems by engaging and building relationships with anchor attractions, cultural hubs, small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and influencers. One must be committed to establishing mutually beneficial business relationships with private entities to support the BTC’s vision while understanding their goals. This role needs a person with initiative and the ability to engage and maintain good working relationships with potential and existing sponsors/partners. This role reports directly to the President of BXEDC.
JOB DESCRIPTION-FULL TIME
Bronx Tourism Council (BTC)
- Assist in planning, organizing, and logistical support for signature events (Savor the Bronx/Bronx Week/Bronx Ball/ Fireworks Extravaganza/Tour De Bronx)
- Assist with maintaining consistent communication and scheduling meetings for existing and new opportunities
- Assist in ensuring that all dedicated branding and marketing for sponsors are met
- Organize branding for signature events
- Assist in resolving sponsors' and partners' issues and concerns
- Work alongside the Director of Development in developing and implementing marketing strategies for new sponsors
- Network and attend community engagement to source new partners and support existing ones
- Set target and milestone goals to adhere to deadlines for each event
- Attend meetings, seminars, conventions, and workshops when necessary to stay informed about new ways to advance BTC.
- Maintain an inventory and directory of marketing materials
- Manage and coordinate tasks outsourced to external vendors, such as printing
- Support the organization in ad hoc projects as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Need to be flexible with work hours-particularly around planning major events which will require working on some weekends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Good oral and written presentation
- Self-starter

Schedule
- Hybrid: Monday to Thursday in the office. Fridays, work from home.
Salary Range: $65k-78k, based on experience
