Each year, the Bronx Borough President’s Office and the Bronx Tourism Council host the Tour de Bronx Bike Ride, and this year’s tour is an especially exciting one because it is the 30th anniversary of when the ride was initiated in the early 90’s.
Since then, the ride has expanded in multiple ways. Many more riders sign up for the event each year, and in 2024, the Bronx Tourism Council expects about five thousand participants, making it the biggest free cycling event in New York State. There are also multiple courses now, which gives riders the opportunity to see even more of The Bronx from their bicycles if they choose. This year, there will also be a photography team capturing photos of the riders which will be sold on ilovethebronx.com after the ride.
Tour de Bronx will take place on Sunday, October 6th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will start at 161st and Grand Concourse and end at the New York Botanical Garden, where there will be a concert to celebrate the end of the ride featuring Lulada Club, New York’s all-women salsa orchestra and a DJ.
