MORRISANIA'S MUSICAL LEGACY
The Bronx Music Heritage Center (BMHC) is located in the Morrisania neighborhood and brings classes, concerts, film screenings, and artist residencies that reflect the area's deep cultural roots. This neighborhood was the home to many jazz musicians and was also one of thecradles of hip hop in The Bronx. This walking tour will explore the jazz, Latin music, and hip hop history of the neighborhood; as well as some of the social history that has changed the face of the neighborhood, from the fires that raged here in the 1970s and 1980s that led to visits by Presidents Reagan and Carter, to the social activism that have built it back up. The Bronx Music Heritage Center is located in the Morrisania neighborhood and brings classes, concerts, film screenings, and artist residencies that reflect the area's deep culturalroots.

THE SOUTH BRONX LATIN MUSIC TOUR
The neighborhoods of Hunts Point and Longwood have been the home to many musicians involved in NYC's rich Latin music scene.  Legendary musicians such as Ray Barretto and Eddie Palmieri grew up and went to school here. These neighborhoods were also the center of a lot of social and community activism that led to the resurgence of The Bronx after the devastation in the 1970s and 1980s. This tour shows how both were, and continue to be, integrally connected as well as a force in the revitalization of the community.

TROLLEY TOURS and BUS TOURS

FIRST WEDNESDAYS: ARTS & CULTURE TOUR
Hop on the trolley and enjoy attractions at some of the hottest cultural spots along the lower Grand Concourse! Board the trolley at Bronx Council for the Arts’ Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos, on the campus of Hostos Community College at 450 Grand Concourse. 5:00pm Meet-and-Greet Reception. The trolley departs at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30pm to other venues in the South Bronx Cultural Corridor. The trolley ride and admission to participating venues along its route are FREE.

FIRST FRIDAYS: SEASIDE TOUR
Visitors from all over are heading up to The Bronx on the first Friday night of every month. The City Island Seaside Tour offers FREE trips starting at the end of the #6 train line (Pelham Bay Park Station).
Tour a mansion, a beautiful, early 19th-century botanical illustrations from the Royal Horticultural Society, music for flute and harp, and light refreshments. Stroll through the gardens before hopping back on the Trolley to enjoy a meal at one of City Island's many restaurants, visit shops, art openings and entertainment.
